 Miss Hannah Lea Caviness is Miss Union 2010. She is a 19-year-old sophomore at Clemson University, Majoring in Civil Engineering. She was a member of the 2009 Clemson NCAA Rowing team. She is a former High School SCISSA all conference, All-Region, All-Star in both basketball and volleyball. She was the Valedictorian for her High School graduation class at Laurens Academy. Hannah was named LCCT Community Actress of the Year in 2009 for her performance in the musical play "Cinderella". She is a certified lifeguard and swimming instructor. Hannah's platform is centered on Physical Fitness and Nutrition. Hannah recognized early on that her activities required intense physical conditioning and good nutritional habits in order to be successful. She believes strongly that the more people understand the correlation between health and happiness, the more they will be inclined to make the right choices when it comes to eating and exercising. Hannah's personal experience, faith in God, and her genuine belief in the overall benefits of doing the right things for the right reasons, will serve her well as she drives this platform forward in 2010. Hannah grew up in Union County and currently lives in Buffalo, SC. She will be representing Union County at the Miss South Carolina 2010 in July.

I was crowned Miss Union Teen in August 2009 and will compete in Miss South Carolina Teen in July 2010!
I am very excited and am counting down the days! I am also very eager to promote my Sparkle platform to everyone. Not only do I enjoy community service projects, I have a passion for dance and am a competitive dancer in jazz, tap, lyrical, and hip-hop. Dancer's Edge in Belton, South Carolina is my dance home. Miss Mary Burns is my dance instructor.... I love Miss Mary! This past Spring, I was awarded Junior Super Soloist at Encore Dance Competition. Studying dance since the age of two, my aspiration is to one day be a Rockette! Julliard and Broadway are also on my list of goals! God gave me these long legs for a reason! My hobbies include bass fishing with my Daddy, and singing. Although I am not a very good singer, I love to sing with my sister who sings like a songbird! My sister, Kensley, is the best sister a girl could have! I often wonder what I would do without her! She is my biggest fan and supporter! Recently, the Greenwood County Council presented me with a Proclamation for my efforts in promoting community service and receiving the Presidential Community Service Award from the Honorable President Barack Obama. This, by far, has been one of my greatest accomplishments. At the age of twelve I am the youngest person to have received a Proclamation from the County Council!
